Achievement Seminars
Mount Bachelor Academy has developed unique one-day achievement seminars in which students are able to explore specific areas of social development:
- Achievement Seminar I—Communication Skills: Designed to bring awareness and effectiveness to interpersonal relationships.
- Achievement Seminar II—The Danger Zone: Reviews risky behaviors and provides students with tools to make informed decisions.
- Achievement Seminar III—Human Sexuality and Social Skills: Focuses on introducing students to the responsibilities and realities of dating, sex, social skills, and boundaries.
- Achievement Seminar IV—Diversity and Tolerance: Examines diversity, tolerance, and prejudice.
Communication
The foundation of good interpersonal relationships is honest, open communication. Students develop and practice these skills through:
- Communication skills groups comprised of a changing mix of MBA students at all levels, which are held twice per week and deal with both immediate interpersonal conflicts and individual emotional issues.
- Communication skills groups once per week, comprised of individual peer groups designed to maintain the cohesion of the peer group as students progress through the program.
- Individual student/mentor meetings.
- Facilitated conference calls with parents to deal with issues as they arise.
Special Workshops
Mount Bachelor Academy has developed unique one-day workshops in which students are able to explore specific areas of personal development:
- Leadership Conference—an opportunity for students to examine the qualities necessary to be an effective leader while discovering their own leadership abilities and style.
- Braveheart—a gender specific workshop for young men in which they can affirm their own uniquely male qualities while identifying the value in their positive male role models.
- Candlelight Journey—a gender specific workshop for young women in which they identify positive female role models in their lives and discover their own uniquely female strengths.
